With the death of Noel Neill on July 3, 2016, Coates became the last surviving regular cast member from the ''Adventures of Superman'' TV series. Coates's ''Superman'' fame has obscured the fact that she was one of Hollywood's most consistently employed actresses of the 1950s and 1960s.
